ALTENDORF MAGIS -
THE DIGITAL SAW GUIDE.

Altendorf MAGIS is the new digital, graphical operator guidance system that makes complex workflows straightforward. Cut by cut, the intelligent MAGIS software guides users through the predefined cutting sequence clearly and reliably whatever their level of experience. Operators can expect savings in both time and material as a result. Altendorf MAGIS brings clarity to projects. It acquires the relevant data from the cut optimisation package, detects the saw specification and then incorporates this information into the visualisation.

Easily understood symbols displayed on a tablet guide the user through the necessary steps. The loaded dimension specifications for manual fences or automatic adjustment of motorised fences are clearly visible and simplify work from the outset. The system can also be used to label finished workpieces with information including a barcode that can be read with a scanner to access instructions for subsequent processing. This means that every single machine operator in the production process knows exactly what needs to be done next.


SCORER WITH PARK POSITION -
ALWAYS THERE, NEVER DISTURBING.

Customers choosing a three-axis scorer unit with their new Altendorf F 45 now have even more reason to be happy. The new unit allows the scorer to be moved out of the working area to a much better protected standby position, allowing it to be “parked” safely out of the way when processing solid wood, plastic materials or even non-ferrous metals. And since the scorer is always there, but never in the way, it is now also possible to use up to 550 mm-diameter main saw blades without facing additional setup time for the scorer unit. This option is only available for machines with one-way tilting saw unit.


F 45 AIR TABLE -
EASY HANDLING, NO SCRATCHES.

The first air table to hit the sliding table saw market is now available as an optional feature for the Altendorf F 45. The compressed-air unit operates on the righthand side of the saw blade to make work at the rip fence easier. The air cushion reduces the frictional resistance between the material and the machine table by up to 80% which not only makes handling heavy workpieces much easier, but also, being an essentially contact-free technology, greatly reduces the risk of the workpiece being scratched as it passes over the machine table.


CROSSCUT FENCE WITH DIGIT L -
IMPROVED SCALE FOR GREATER SPEED
AND ACCURACY.

LIGNA 2017 sees the arrival of an even more user-friendly version of the popular crosscut fence with DIGIT L. Altendorf’s design engineers have moved the scale closer to the operator to make it easier to read when pre-setting dimensions. Two new magnifiers also help to improve readability, enabling pre-settings to be made 30% faster. The process reliability of the DIGIT L has been increased considerably too, with the tape measure now also protecting the signalling magnetic tape against wear and damage.


F 45 IN THREE HEIGHTS -
FOR A PERSONAL FIT.

Although the working height of sliding table saws has been rising steadily over recent years, Altendorf has noticed significant international demand for lower machines. Recognising that we are all different when it comes to ergonomics, the company has responded by introducing three different working height options – 85 cm, 88 cm and 91 cm – worldwide for the F 45 so that customers can order the machine that best suits their operator needs.


RIP FENCE CONFIRMATION PROMPT -
ALWAYS PLAYING IT SAFE.

The safety clearance of the CNC-driven rip fence in front of the saw blade is 180 mm for all Altendorf F 45 sliding table saws. Now, for even greater safety, we have added a sensor that lets the control unit know if the saw blade is tilted. If the sensor detects even the slightest tilt, the CNC rip fence is braked to creep speed in good time and approaches its specified end position only under constant manual confirmation by the operator. This refinement boosts productivity as well as safety, especially when working with cutting plans involving a large number of narrow parts.
